Who We Are
The Pinup Patriettes is a non-profit* group of ladies who love our country, especially those who would answer the call to defend it. We are entertainers for and all-around supporters of active duty military, veterans, and military families. We put a modern spin on the vintage glamour, sass, and talent of the 1940's era USO performers of yesteryear.
Why We Do It
Like most Americans, many of us have friends and family members who are or were in the military. In fact, one of the Patriettes is an active duty soldier!
The Pinup Patriettes believe that Marines, soldiers, airmen, sailors and Coast Guardsmen are heroes and they deserve the respect and support of their countrymen. Most of us may not handle live ammo, but we can do a mean shimmy. We'll continue to do what we can at home so that those fighting know that they're appreciated and loved. USA! USA!
The Pinup Patriettes started one April morning in 2010 during a phone conversation between childhood friends, pinup model, Dolly Marlowe and, photographer, Jillian Danielson. They wanted to do something to give back to their largest and most loyal fan base, the men and women of the United States military.
“We would hear so many heartbreaking stories of veterans down on their luck who couldn’t get help from, or didn’t have access to, the larger charity groups, or people serving their country that felt unappreciated or marginalized by the media and society at large. Jill and I wanted to do something meaningful to change that.
Pop culture has a huge influence over public mood. Nowhere is that more evident than the support that came from Hollywood during WWII. We wanted to bring that sentiment of support and solidarity back, and if Hollywood wasn’t going to lead the charge, we would!
I’m proud to say the Pinup Patriettes have inspired and influenced numerous other pinup groups across the country. The patriotic sentiment is spreading. It's amazing to know we had something to do with that.”
Though Jillian parted ways with the group in 2014 to focus on her career and family, the Pinup Patriettes remain eternally grateful for her immense contribution to the group.
